 CL2 Upgrade Questions
« Thread Started on Nov 2, 2009, 7:27pm »

In the video for the apC-CL2 preset, seven of the Clip Stop buttons are used for selectors, which brings up the question of if it is incompatible with the apC-TC1 preset?

If not compatible as is, would it be possible to assign one of the TC1 modes to the eighth button, for apC-CL1+TC1 users? Like have a variation of each preset, similar to the 0db version, which assigns a knob mode to the eighth button?

I've grown accustomed to having the TC1's Send mode enabled most of the time now, and would miss that functionality when running CL2.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum. CL2 couldn’t be combined with TC1 in its current state. However, I’m in the process of coming up with a variation of TC1 (probably TC2) that could be combined with CL2 since this has been requested by several other users as well. I don’t have a definite timeframe on this yet, but I’m shooting for the end of the month.

When that preset is released, it would be offered as a paid upgrade for CL1+TC1 users and a free upgrade for CL1+TC1 and CL2 users.

Thanks,

Stray

Ha! That was my question as well.
looks like a very cool update, but I think I will wait for the TC2 / CL2 combo

Any idea of timeframe?

As soon As I got mine, I asked about this too... For me, it's the true 'endless' encoders in the TC1 that I miss (even though I only use 2-4 of them regularly for controlling clip parameters).

But I liked the answer I got... sounds like he's bout to make some new improved hotness for TC2. It just keeps getting better and better... (I just hope there are at least 2 REAL endless encoders in the new one).

Spent some time on this today. It’s looking like TC2 will be identical to TC1 except for:
  • You use Shift+the track control buttons to switch between Modes.
  • In User Mode, the top 4 encoders function like endless encoders, the bottom 4 function like normal (with LED feedback).
  • In User Mode, the track control buttons aren’t assignable.
  • When you switch back to Default Mode, you’ll always be put back into Pan (regardless of where you were last time you were in Default Mode).

It’ll take a little while to get this setup, tested and ready for release. I can’t give a timeframe yet, but it will definitely be done by the end of the month.

Thanks,

Stray

2 users mode should be great!
a user mode with 8 endless encoders and a user mode with 8 normal encoders (with led feedback)

Is is possible ?

That wouldn’t be possible unfortunately. It has to do with the amount of data that is able to be stored in the runtime. CL2 uses 75% of it. The User Mode in TC1 uses more than 20% and that’s not including the other Modes in TC1. So, User Mode (among other things) has to be changed to fit with CL2.

Thanks,

Stray

Brilliant, purchased the CL2 upgrade today to help support this. I've been reading through the manual, and am feeling inspired and empowered by the possibilities this opens up for a performance situation. My sincere gratitude, Stray.

It's my pleasure and I hope it lives up to your expectations.

To update, I've got the CL2+TC2 combo partially setup, but it ended up uncovering some minor issues with CL2. The Clip Stop buttons in Nav mode aren't working correctly. In Learn Mode, the button that triggers Note 4 of Chord 6 will not work correctly in certain situations. And, in the [Thru] version, the way the thru is handled currently is too limited.

Those will all be addressed in an update very soon and my apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks,

Stray

Updates sent. I will get back to work on CL2+TC2 now. To give a better estimate, I expect to have it done by the 16th.

Thanks for your patience.
