 Transport Controls in Reaper?
« Thread Started on Nov 7, 2009, 2:59pm »

Hi!
First of all, this app is excellent!
I can hardly contain myself, having lots of fun playing with it. :D

Now the question - is it possible to use the transport controls in Reaper?

There are a few control surfaces available - Mackie Universal etc.
I'm not sure which input/output to select though...

Hi,

The transport controls should work with Reaper. You’d just need to set up the Mackie Control (try Classic if possible, but Universal should work as well) as a control surface. The input and output would be From MT Player 1 and To MT Player 1 respectively.

If you get no joy there, try using Frontier Design Tranzport in place of the Mackie Control.

Thanks,

Stray

Still nothing.
Well, the MT Player and Reaper show MIDI activity when pressing the transport buttons, but nothing else...

I just downloaded Reaper and it works perfectly fine with Mackie Control Universal setup as a control surface.

All you need to do is go to Prefs – Control Surfaces, select Mackie Control Universal as a Control Surface with From MT Player 1 and To MT Player 1 as the In/Out.

NOTE: In Prefs - MIDI Devices, From MT Player 1 and To MT Player 1 should NOT be enabled. If they are enabled, you won't be able to set up the Mackie Control.

Thanks,

Stray

Problem solved!
I had indeed all the MT Player in-s and out-s enabled.

Everything works now.
