This is really awesome, but i have to be honest. At first I thought I stick with LPC Live, because I still wanted to map the launchpad to certain parameters, boy was I wrong. After having a good session this weekend and getting familiar with LPC Live 2, I realized that I don'w need to map anything, because it is already in the script. You name it and it is there, so a big big huge thank you for your effort sand brilliant idea to make this script.
However I do have a question. I have been busy with checking what ClyphX functionality I would add to the matrix page, but most of it is already in there. The only thing I would like to know is if there is a ClyphX command to scroll through the browser to look for devices, such as an up or down command, and maybe even left and right for sub folders? I have been looking throughout the entire ClyphX list but the only thing I come across is the focbrwsr and tglbrwsr commands, no real browse function.
I don't know if it is possible, but if it is, please let me know what the command is or where I can find it.
I did find one little issue. I have tried to use the user 2 mode for an instance of Numerology 4 as a vst in ableton, but I have found out that it is giving problems with the led feedback in LPC Live 2. I think it is because it is not a max for live device.
Not a big deal, because there is enough sequencing possibilities in LPC Live 2, I love the Poly Sequencer, really great to work with. I think I will use the LPC Live 2 script with the gridlock monomer emulator from now on, which makes the Launchpad a Super Powerful device. At this moment it is the brain for all my operations in Ableton, once again thank you Stray.
ClyphX can load devices (like LOADDEV x) and control hotswapping (like SWAP >), but it can't navigate the browser as there would no point. Live's API doesn't have any means of loading the selected item from the browser.
I don't follow what you're saying about User 2. If you need further help with that, please create a new thread with as much detail on it as possible and please attach your Log.txt file to the thread.
Thank you for answering so quick, I will see what other ClyphX functions I will use to customize it this evening, but it is hard, because you have covered pretty much everything.
The User 2 thing is not a problem, I was just mentioning it, to make you aware of it. It is the same as if you would use a Max Runtime application on User 2, because Numerology is a VST. Every time you press the User 2 button it will be activated and cause LED interference, but this is normal, because it also does that without your script in native Launchpad mode. What I was trying to say here is that I realized that it can only be used with max for live devices and I only posted it to make others aware of it so they don't think that something is wrong with the script. I am using it with great pleasure with an instance of the Oktopad Max for Live device, which I have customized for my own personal needs.
Once again thanks and keep up the great work.
By the way have you thought about writing a script for the Livid CNTRL:R somewhere in the future??
I will look forward to when you are going to do the CNTRL:R script, I know you got a lot going on now, but when you are able to get to it just let me know. I have a CNTRL:R here and would love to see your work to be added to it.
Another question that I have for you is about the ClyphX actions. Would it be possible to add the SNAP actions to it? It doesn't seem like it from the documentation, because you would need to have the clips in there if I'm correct. And if it is possible, would I be able to store multiple snapshots or just one?
I will look into this, once again it is not a major thing for me, but was just wondering if it was a possibility, because it would be nice to have something like that for example in a live performance or when you have a great setting to recall it after tweaking the parameters.
In poly sub mode I have a 4 bar loop, I'm trying to do quick notes in 1/32nds. The first 2 bars I can access everything fine including using shift to set my focus... But I can't seem to figure out how to navigate into bars 3 and 4. I've tried selecting bars 3/4 while in 1/16ths then switching into 1/32nds but it still won't show those other bars
Also in Note Mode, Drum racks has a way to set velocity but I can't figure out how to change the velocity of keys(scale), it's playing all notes at 127 velocity (many of my sounds give a different timbre based on velocity. Does keys not have the 4 velocity settings like drum rack?
In the Poly Sequence mode, if the clip's time signature is 4/4, you'd only be able to access two bars with a resolution of 1/32.
The velocity buttons in the Drum Rack Sub-Mode select the velocity to use for step-sequencing. The Scale Sub-Mode doesn't do any step-sequencing, so it doesn't have/need the velocity buttons. In either Sub-Mode, the velocity of the playable buttons isn't controllable from LPC-Live 2 as MIDI Remote Scripts don't allow for that. You could, of course, use a Velocity device in Live to modify the velocity though.
The Drum Rack Sub-Mode strictly applies to Drum Racks, no other instruments. You can use the Scale Sub-Mode to play other instruments.
I see. Battery4 is an excellent drum sampler with an extensive library. I was really hoping to be able to use LPC lives drum sequencing function with Battery4. I guess I will have to buy maschine again me thinks...
On further thinking... Just a small request/suggestion... Maybe long-press a particular button to over-ride and switch between the modes? I wonder how easy it might be to implicate that at some point, for anyone who uses external drum synths and samplers
